בחודשים האחרונים החל המשא ומתן על הסכם קיבוצי חדש לעובדי מערך הכבאות. המשא ומתן צובר תאוצה ומעלה סוגיות רבות וחשובות על הפרק, כשלא מעט דילמות נידונות בין
ארגון העובדים, ההנהלה ומשרד האוצר.

ראוי לציין שכול הצדדים אוחזים בדעה שיש צורך אמיתי להביא לשיפור תנאי ההעסקה של עובדי המערך, על כלל הסקטורים המצויים בו.

מי שלוקח חלק באותן שיחות הוא חבר המזכירות איתמר פישר. פישר, רב סרן במילואים שהגיע למערך לפני 11 שנים, הוא דמות דומיננטית בארגון העובדים ואף צבעונית מאוד.

יש הרבה מה לתקן בתנאים של הכבאים, יש הרבה עיוותים שנוצרו לאורך השנים,
